I'm finally starting to feel like I have a routine - which goes a long way to making me feel grounded. The days now pass with a familiar rhythm that pushed me forward. And I have to say, I'm pretty content.

Today was my first practical class where I actually got to practice what I've been learning. We're starting with different vegetable cuts, so how appropriate that we're making potage - vegetable soup.

Have courage! This is what Madame says to me before I leave for my first day of class. I feel like a kindergartener on her first day of school. Will I like it? Will I make friends? Will the teachers be nice? I haven't been to school in 13 years now. Is it possible that I can used to being a student again?

Our first mission of the day is to head north to the edge of town. Our destination? The Marche Aux Puces (flea market). As we ascend from the Metro, we see a very different side of Paris. This is probably one of the poorest parts of town. Crime is abundant as is the diversity among the faces. Everything seems a little more urgent here, and people don’t seem as calm and content.
