In the land of wine, it’s hard to believe there aren’t more wine bars in Paris. I thought it was a no brainer to find a quaint place where one could sample, swirl and sip the good stuff. Obviously I Parisians don’t feel the same. So thank goodness for Willie’s Wine Bar tucked into a small side street near the Louvre.

Nothing makes me feel more like a girl than a day of shopping with my mom. Since I had an extra week of vacation, she came for a great visit. My favorite day was spent with her and Lani in the Madeline area. Our legs got a great workout – as did my credit card.

Has this ever happened to you? You’re walking down the street and all of a sudden you know that you’ve arrived at your destination simply by the smell. This is how I discovered Tartine Bakery in San Francisco. There were no visual indications that I had arrived at this very non-descript corner bakery – no sign indicating that heaven was just a few steps away. Rather, it was the smell of all things yummy that wafted down the block and led me straight through the front door.
