I love summer entertaining in the backyard. But with soaring temperatures, I want a simple menu that everyone can enjoy without getting stuck in the kitchen. I also like to encourage creativity among my guests, so that’s why I always turn to kebabs. There’s very little preparation involved, which means I get to relax and enjoy the party.

I’m not a big fan of fad diets – Atkins, fat flush, grapefruit diet. To me, the word “diet” is just a temporary attempt at eating healthy. Once the diet it over, we go back to eating whatever we want. Instead, I’d rather eat healthy as a way of life. But recently I found a new diet that actually sounds exciting – the new low-carb diet. But carb doesn’t stand for carbohydrate, it means carbon.

I like to think that I have a well-developed pallet. When going out to dinner, I’m fairly adventurous. I’ll pretty much try anything once – unless of course it has organs in it. My encounters with tripe sausage and sweetbreads at Guy Savoy left me scarred for life. But today I crossed into uncharted waters – I tried Spam for the very first time.
