All good things must come to an end. After a whirlwind two weeks, it was time to kiss my friends and family goodbye and return to Paris. Although I had a great time, I was excited about returning to France and embarking on my final semester at Le Cordon Bleu.

An unusual thing happens in France every August. Just after the big three week sales that every store participates in, the Parisians lock their doors and flee for the countryside. It’s called la morte saison (the dead season), and as a foreigner, it’s challenging to deal with.

French men remain a bit of an enigma to me. There are all sorts of unspoken rules to flirting and dating. As men go, I do find them fairly attractive. Most of them have dark hair, dark eyes, are of average height and tend to be on the slender side. Yet each one is unique in his own right. The only thing they all seem to share is sheer persistence.
