I new my vacation was going to be all about the food. There are so many things I miss being in Paris. Don't get me wrong, the food is amazing there - and much better for me - but for five months, I've had cravings like crazy.
Here's just a peek at what I've been eating:
- Blueberries, blackberries, huckleberries, and golden raspberries
- Carne asada tacos
- Mom's chocolate chip cookies
- A thick chocolate milkshake
- Corn on the cob
- Pancakes and bacon
- Goat cheese and pancetta strata
- Smores
- Grilled peaches wrapped in prosciutto drizzled with a balsamic reduction
- Fresh peaches
- Watermelon
- Crab
Yeah, it's been a good vacation. And Americans wonder why we have weight issues! I'm sure I'll gain a couple pounds on this trip, but compared to the 20 I lost in Paris, I'm in fairly good shape. Imagine that - going to cooking school in France actually helps you lose weight. Have I discovered a new diet fad?
I will be taking a few things back with my on the plane. I'm sure this sounds like a rather odd list, but hey, I'm excited: Starbucks Awake tea, mac and cheese, and Best Foods mayonnaise. Vive la France!
