There was a lot of tempering going on this week. No, I’m not talking about getting angry (although I’ve done that a lot lately). I’m actually referring to the process of tempering chocolate – one that can be rather challenging if you’re not careful.

I have a gift – and an unusual one at that. Usually people are gifted at art, music, teaching, science, etc. I’ve met numerous people who have surprised and impressed me with their talents. I know I have a few of my own, but recently, I’ve discovered a new one.

Everyone has them - the challenging days where you can't do anything right and the ones where you just can't lose. I've had hundreds of both, but no matter how many I have, I can't help feeling like I'm riding a rollercoaster sometimes.

It’s 6:45 PM on a Thursday. I’m laying in bed – in my pajamas no less – with a headache pulsing through my temples. My hands smell like fish, there are fish scales glued to my hair, some alien substance caked under my broken fingernails, my feet feel like I’ve walked over a bed of coals, and there’s a new burn on my arm. Ah, the joys of Superior.
